A Day Out: Kinderdijk & Dordrecht

On Saturday, my family, Che Dah & I went to Kinderdijk & Dordrecht in the Netherlands. Lucky us, the weather that day was great!! ;D In Kinderdijk, we visited old, preserved windmills by boat. It was such a beatiful sight - old, rustic windmills set by the beautiful, calm river of Kinderdijk. In 1997, UNESCO inscribed the windmill area on the World Heritage list, a recognition of its unique character.

The visit to Kinderdijk was ended with a good dose of coffee & apple pie ;D

After Kinderdijk, we went to Dordrecht, the oldest city in the Netherlands. It was granted city rights in 1220. So, it is OLD, indeed.. ; ) Dordrecht is a very beautiful, quiet city by the water. It was the largest port in Holland back in the old days. Nowadays, little has changed to the old street layout and the harbours dug for ship trading.

One important reminder: If you plan to visit Dordrecht, please watch out for dog poo. Adik stepped on some. Hahahaha.. ;D
