Today, I'm officially registered as a PhD student at the Royal Veterinary College, London.
My feeling? Empty. This time around somehow I don't feel as excited as I was during the start of my MSc studies in Utrecht, The Netherlands 3 years ago. Firstly, accommodation is still not settled. Second and most importantly, I still haven't receive the portion of family allowance for this 1st 3 months. Urghh.
My husband & I now are staying at a rented room in Edgware Road, we still haven't got a permanent address. God, it's so hard to find a place to stay here in London. We went to see a studio flat on Monday, but the condition's quite bad, it's far from the campus and the rent's not cheap either. Tomorrow morning we've made an appointment to view another studio flat at Tufnell Park, 30 minutes away from the campus. On Wednesday, we've got another appointment waiting. Dear Allah, please help us.
Apart from the headache of finding suitable accommodation, dealing with period pain and fighting jet lags, we took some time to browse Central London. : )
